Privacy notice

Under Turkey’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 ("KVKK"), this notice explains which personal data this site processes, why, for how long, and what your rights are. The Turkish version is the binding one.

What data I process

The site has no advertising or tracking cookies. Visit statistics come from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and collects no personal data.

Speaking invitation form: full name, organisation, email, phone (optional), event type, date, format and city, audience size, topic, talk language and your message.
Newsletter signup: your email address, your language and the time you gave consent.
To prevent abuse: a one-way hash of the IP address that sent a form; the IP address itself is not stored.
To check that a form is sent by a person, not a bot: when you start filling in a form, Cloudflare Turnstile loads and reads technical details from your browser (such as the IP address and browser type). Cloudflare states that it does not use them for advertising.

Why, and on what legal basis

To consider your speaking invitation and reply to you: necessary to set up an agreement (KVKK art. 5/2-c) and your explicit consent (art. 5/1).
To keep your newsletter signup: your explicit consent (art. 5/1).
To prevent abuse of the forms: legitimate interest (art. 5/2-f).

Where data is stored and who receives it

The site and its data are hosted on Cloudflare, Inc. infrastructure, so your data may be transferred to servers outside Turkey. This transfer relies on the explicit consent you give when you send a form (KVKK art. 9). Your data is never shared with or sold to anyone else.

How long it is kept

Speaking invitations: 24 months, then deleted.
Newsletter signups: until you ask me to remove you.
IP hashes: 24 hours at most.

Your rights

Under KVKK article 11 you may ask:

whether your data is processed, and for information about it,
why it is processed and whether it is used for that purpose,
who it has been transferred to,
to correct incomplete or wrong data, to delete or destroy it, and to have those who received it told so,
to object to an outcome against you that results only from automated analysis,
for compensation if unlawful processing has harmed you.
